Pakistan’s arrival airports differ in their distance from town, terminal layout and onward-road options. This guide looks at Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Multan, Sialkot and Skardu as planning examples. We confirm service for your exact route and date before a booking.
Seven gateways to plan around
- Islamabad (ISB) — 25 km southwest of Islamabad and 25 km from Rawalpindi Saddar. One modular terminal of 180,000 square metres, forty-two immigration counters, about 6.8 million passengers a year. Hub for PIA and SereneAir and the country’s main long-haul gateway.
- Lahore (LHE) — 15 km from the centre, on the eastern side, so DHA and Cantt are near and the Walled City is far. Three terminals including a separate Hajj terminal. About 6.0 million passengers.
- Karachi (KHI) — one terminal with an international concourse and a domestic concourse, no inter-terminal transfer. About 6.7 million passengers. Almost every transfer runs the length of Shahrah-e-Faisal.
- Peshawar (PEW) — inside the cantonment, ten to twenty minutes from most of the city. Around three-quarters of flights are international, so arrivals are Gulf-heavy and luggage-heavy.
- Multan (MUX) — four kilometres west of the city. Winter fog closes it outright often enough that a road contingency is a real requirement, not a courtesy.
- Sialkot (SKT) — Pakistan’s only privately owned airport, hub of AirSial, 14 km west of Sialkot. Its catchment is a region rather than a city, covering Gujranwala, Gujrat, Wazirabad and Azad Kashmir.
- Skardu (KDU) — 9.2 km from Skardu at around 7,316 feet. Visual flight rules only, so cancellations are common outside summer and the road is the fallback.
Plan for connectivity and payment
Arrival facilities vary by airport and can change. Check roaming or eSIM access before flying, save your pickup instructions offline and carry a backup payment method. If you compare a taxi counter or app ride, confirm its meet point and final fare before setting off.
Pre-arranging a journey can simplify a late arrival or a trip with heavy luggage. Share your flight number, destination, group size and bags. We confirm whether we can serve the route and where a driver can meet you; do not assume terminal access or a particular vehicle until those details are agreed.
How to compare airport fares
Airport taxi arrangements differ by location and operator. Islamabad Airport advises passengers to agree a fare before setting off. Counter, app and pre-arranged fares can change; compare the final door-to-door price, included waiting time, tolls and luggage fit for your own journey.
There is no single airport taxi fare for all of Pakistan. Ask any provider for the current fare and its inclusions before travel, whether you choose a counter, an app or a pre-arranged car.
Luggage is the question, not seats
Passenger seats do not equal luggage capacity. A third row can reduce boot space, so a family with full checked bags may need a van even when a car has enough seats. Tell us the number and approximate size of cases so we can check an approved vehicle rather than assuming a class will fit.
Send the flight number
Give us the flight number and scheduled arrival time with your request. It lets the pickup be planned against the actual schedule, and for Multan and Skardu in particular it tells us where to look if the aircraft goes somewhere else.
Search your route and vehicle options. See the fare, add the journey to your basket and pay at secure checkout; your card is only charged once the vehicle and driver are confirmed. Special requirements are quoted on request by the booking team.
Which vehicle actually fits
These model examples do not confirm the capacity or availability of a particular vehicle. Give the passenger count and the number and size of bags, and check the approved vehicle variation before confirmation.
- Suzuki WagonR 3 passengers, 2 cases Short city transfers on a budget. The tall boot helps more than the engine does.
- Toyota Yaris or Corolla 3 to 4 passengers, 2 to 3 large cases The workhorse. City work, airport transfers and the motorway run between Lahore and Islamabad.
- Honda BR-V 5 passengers with luggage, or 7 with almost none Family airport transfers on paved routes. The third row eats the boot, so it suits children or short hops rather than seven adults with cases. Not a mountain vehicle.
- Toyota Fortuner 5 passengers with full luggage, 7 travelling light For a mountain itinerary, confirm the actual vehicle variation, drivetrain and current route suitability before booking.
- Toyota Land Cruiser 4 to 5 passengers with full luggage Confirm the actual vehicle variation, passenger and luggage fit, and current route suitability before booking.
- Toyota Hiace Grand Cabin 13 passengers plus the driver The group and family vehicle. Gulf arrivals into Sialkot and Peshawar with heavy luggage, tour groups, weddings, long intercity runs.

How booking works
- 01 Tell us the journey Where from, where to, when, how many of you and how much luggage. Precise addresses matter more than you would think, because a Rawalpindi address and an Islamabad address twenty minutes apart are very different journeys.
- 02 Review the fare or quote Where offered, online fares and written quotes show the journey and vehicle class they cover. Check tolls, waiting time and extras before you confirm.
- 03 Check your confirmed details Keep your booking reference or written quote. Confirm the vehicle, driver where applicable, and pickup or collection instructions before travel.
- 04 You travel Follow the confirmed meeting or collection instructions. Check the vehicle and, where a driver is provided, their identity before starting.

Which airports can I ask about?
We can review pickup requests for Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Multan, Sialkot and Skardu. Coverage and vehicle supply depend on the exact route and date; we will say if we cannot serve it.
Where will my pickup be?
Your confirmed instructions should identify the agreed meet point. Terminal and car-park access vary by airport; contact support before travel if the instructions are missing or unclear.
Is there a fixed airport taxi fare in Pakistan?
There is no single national tariff. Islamabad Airport advises agreeing a fare before the journey; ask any provider for a current door-to-door price and its inclusions.
Will my phone work when I land?
That depends on your mobile plan and airport. Check roaming or eSIM access before flying, save your pickup details offline and keep a backup contact and payment method.
How much luggage can you take?
Tell us the number and approximate size of your cases as well as the number of passengers. We check the approved vehicle’s actual passenger and luggage capacity before confirming it.
Can you meet a very late or very early flight?
Tell us the flight number, date and requested pickup time. We will confirm availability and the meeting plan for that specific journey before booking.
What if my flight is delayed or diverted?
Share your flight number and contact us if the arrival changes. A diversion or new pickup time may need a revised route, fare and fresh confirmation.
Do you do departures as well as arrivals?
We can review departure requests too. Tell us your flight and target check-in time so we can confirm availability and a suitable pickup plan.
Can the transfer continue as an intercity journey?
It can when the full onward route and vehicle are serviceable. Include your final destination in the request so the complete journey can be checked and quoted.
Do you use Uber or Careem drivers?
Neither operates ride-hailing in Pakistan. Uber left on 30 April 2024 and Careem suspended ride-hailing on 18 July 2025.
How do I know who is collecting me?
Use the latest confirmed driver and vehicle details for your booking. Contact support before pickup if they are missing or change, and check the vehicle and driver before getting in.
Is the price fixed?
The accepted quote or online booking should state the fare and its inclusions. A change to route, time or vehicle may need a revised fare for you to agree before travel.
