Multan International is four kilometres west of the city, which makes it the shortest airport transfer in Pakistan: ten to fifteen minutes to most of Multan, with the Cantonment railway station under three kilometres away. The terminal opened in March 2015 with four jet bridges and a 3,204-metre runway, and it handled around 1.39 million passengers in 2024-25, up four and a half per cent.
PIA, flydubai, Qatar Airways, Airblue and Air Arabia fly to Dubai, Doha, Jeddah, Sharjah and Muscat. This is southern Punjab’s labour-migration and Umrah gateway, so the arrival pattern is families meeting long-haul Gulf sectors, frequently at night, frequently with a lot of luggage.
What actually happens when you land
Three things are true at every Pakistani airport and none of them appear in the brochure. There are no tourist SIM counters in arrivals, so a phone that worked at the departure gate has no data on landing. Airport cash machines frequently decline foreign cards. And the app-based options that look obvious from a laptop at home need both of those things working before a car will come.
At Multan the distance is not the problem. The weather is. A four-kilometre transfer is trivial until the flight it belongs to does not land, and at this airport that happens for a specific and predictable reason.
That is the argument for arranging the car before you fly. A driver waiting inside arrivals with your name does not require you to have a local number, mobile data or rupees in your pocket. Fog, and why it belongs on this page

None of that stops a car, but it changes what a sensible transfer looks like: air conditioning that actually works, a vehicle that has not been standing in the sun with a family about to get into it, and a driver who does not leave elderly passengers waiting outside the terminal.
The honest price ladder
We would rather set out the whole market than pretend we are the only option. From cheapest to dearest, an airport transfer in Pakistan runs: public transport, then a Bykea bike, then inDrive or Yango, then a negotiated street taxi, then an airport radio cab, then a pre-booked chauffeur.
Multan’s own ground transport is Metro Radio Cab, car rental, auto-rickshaws and over four hundred parking spaces. On a four-kilometre run the price difference between the rungs is small in absolute terms, which is precisely why the choice here is about who meets you and whether the car fits the bags, rather than about the fare.
One thing is no longer on that ladder at all. Uber left Pakistan completely on 30 April 2024 and Careem suspended ride-hailing on 18 July 2025. Any guide still listing them is out of date, and a great many still do.
