Car rental in Pakistan means something different from car rental in Europe or the Gulf. The default product here is a vehicle with a driver, hired by the day or by the journey. Self-drive exists, but it is the minority arrangement, it comes with conditions, and for most visitors it is not the sensible choice. Any comparison you make with rental prices at home is comparing two different things.
That is not a sales position, it is how the market works. It is also, for a first-time visitor, usually the better answer: the addresses are hard, the driving culture is unfamiliar, and the person who knows which junction to avoid at nine in the morning is worth more than the saving on a driver.
The vehicle classes, and what each is actually for
Seating figures come from manufacturers. Luggage capacity is where the marketing happens, so we prefer to talk in cases and assumptions rather than boot litres nobody publishes for this market.
- Economy hatchback — a Suzuki Wagon R or similar, five seats, realistically three people and two cases. City transfers and short budget intercity work. A 660 cc Alto is smaller again and is a city car only; we do not offer it for hills or airport runs with checked bags.
- Standard sedan — a Toyota Yaris or equivalent, five seats, three people and two large cases comfortably. The workhorse for city, airport and motorway journeys.
- Executive sedan — a Toyota Corolla or equivalent, three or four people and two to three large cases. Corporate motorway runs and airport meet-and-greet.
- Family seven-seat — a Honda BR-V or equivalent. Five people plus luggage, or seven people with almost none, because the third row takes the boot. Paved routes; not a mountain vehicle.
- 4×4 SUV — a Toyota Fortuner, and for mountain work specifically the 2.8 litre diesel four-wheel-drive rather than the 2.7 petrol, which is two-wheel-drive. Five people with full luggage. Skardu, Hunza, Naran and Babusar.
- VIP SUV — a Toyota Land Cruiser. Protocol work, expedition itineraries and the higher valleys. Returns roughly five to ten kilometres per litre, which at Rs 343.10 a litre is a visible part of the cost.
- Group van — a Toyota Hiace Grand Cabin, sold throughout the Pakistani trade as a thirteen-seater. We publish it as thirteen passengers plus a driver. Ten to twelve people with luggage is the realistic comfortable load.
- Coach — a Toyota Coaster, twenty-five to twenty-nine passengers with hold luggage. Note the toll arithmetic: a coaster pays Rs 3,350 on the M-2 one way against Rs 1,430 for a car.
How hire is quoted
Three shapes, depending on what you are doing. A single journey, priced door to door with tolls shown as a line item. A half day or full day, where the car and driver stay with you and wait between stops. Or a multi-day itinerary, where the same driver stays with the vehicle throughout and the quote includes their accommodation and duty arrangements.
We do not publish a rate card. Fuel in Pakistan moved from Rs 264.61 a litre to Rs 343.10 in twelve months, and a published rate card would be wrong within weeks. What we do commit to is that the price is fixed once quoted and accepted, for the hire as described.
What we confirm before a booking is final
The vehicle class and its seating and luggage suitability, the inclusions and exclusions, the driver arrangements, and the payment terms. A specific model cannot be guaranteed until the supplier confirms it, so the quote states the class rather than promising a particular registration plate. The driver’s photograph and the actual vehicle registration are sent to you before pickup.
Count cases, not seats
The most common booking error in this market is choosing a vehicle by the number of seats. A seven-seat SUV carries seven people or five people’s luggage, not both. Tell us the number of cases and let us size the vehicle.
Tell us the journey and we will price it. A submitted request is not a booking until availability, price and terms are confirmed.
Which vehicle actually fits
Seat counts are the manufacturer figures. The passenger and luggage numbers beside them are what the vehicle carries in practice, with the cases people really travel with. If your party is near the limit, tell us the number of bags rather than the number of people, because that is what decides it.
- Suzuki WagonR 3 passengers, 2 cases Short city transfers on a budget. The tall boot helps more than the engine does.
- Toyota Yaris or Corolla 3 to 4 passengers, 2 to 3 large cases The workhorse. City work, airport transfers and the motorway run between Lahore and Islamabad.
- Honda BR-V 5 passengers with luggage, or 7 with almost none Family airport transfers on paved routes. The third row eats the boot, so it suits children or short hops rather than seven adults with cases. Not a mountain vehicle.
- Toyota Fortuner 5 passengers with full luggage, 7 travelling light Rough road and mountain work: Skardu, Hunza, Naran, Babusar. Ask for the diesel four-wheel-drive, because the petrol version is two-wheel-drive.
- Toyota Land Cruiser 4 to 5 passengers with full luggage Protocol and expedition work, and a genuine choice for Skardu and Deosai. It returns 5 to 10 km a litre, which at Rs 343 a litre is the honest reason it costs what it costs.
- Toyota Hiace Grand Cabin 13 passengers plus the driver The group and family vehicle. Gulf arrivals into Sialkot and Peshawar with heavy luggage, tour groups, weddings, long intercity runs.
- Toyota Coaster 25 to 29 passengers with hold luggage Large groups, corporate shuttles and pilgrimage travel. Worth knowing that the motorway toll alone is Rs 3,350 each way against Rs 1,430 for a car.

- 01 Tell us the journey Where from, where to, when, how many of you and how much luggage. Precise addresses matter more than you would think, because a Rawalpindi address and an Islamabad address twenty minutes apart are very different journeys.
- 02 We quote a fixed price One figure for the whole journey, with the vehicle class it assumes. If a motorway toll or a waiting period is part of it, you see that too.
- 03 You see the driver and the car Before the journey you get the driver photograph and the vehicle registration, so you know exactly who and what you are looking for.
- 04 You travel At an airport your driver waits inside arrivals with a name sign. Check the photograph and the registration plate against what we sent you before you get in.

Do you publish a rate card?

Are tolls included?
They are shown as a stated line item. The M-2 end-to-end car toll is Rs 1,430 one way under the rate effective 5 July 2026 to 23 April 2027.
Is fuel included?
The quote states inclusions and exclusions explicitly, including fuel, tolls, driver duty and any overnight requirement, so there is nothing to work out afterwards.
Can I hire a vehicle for a wedding or an event?
Yes. Tell us the number of vehicles, the timings and the pickup points, because event work is usually several vehicles running to a schedule rather than one hire.
Is the price fixed?
Yes, once quoted and accepted, for the hire as described. Changes are requoted first.
