Self-drive car rental in Pakistan is for customers who want control of the vehicle during the rental period without a supplied driver. It is not the same as booking a taxi: the renter may need to satisfy age, licence, identity, deposit and insurance conditions and remains responsible for following the rental agreement.
Availability is strongest in major urban markets and can differ by vehicle class, rental length and intended travel area. iDrive’s quote request collects these facts early so an unsuitable offer is not presented as a confirmed booking.
Information a self-drive supplier may require
Requirements differ by provider. Expect the approved supplier to verify the renter and any additional driver before handover. Do not send sensitive original documents by ordinary email unless a secure upload process has been confirmed.
- CNIC or NICOP for eligible Pakistani renters
- Passport and valid driving documents for visitors
- Renter age and driving history
- Home and Pakistan contact details
- Security deposit or card requirements
- Rental city and planned travel areas
- Additional-driver details where applicable
Compare the full rental terms
Ask about daily mileage, extra-kilometre charges, fuel level, insurance scope, renter excess, breakdown process, accident reporting, late return, vehicle substitution, cross-city return and restricted routes. For travel to remote or mountain areas, obtain written permission rather than assuming the car can be taken anywhere.
Important travel note
Self-drive availability is subject to supplier approval. iDrive will not describe a rental as confirmed until identity, eligibility, deposit and vehicle terms have been accepted.
Vehicle choices for this request
Choose the vehicle class around the people and luggage travelling, not only the headline price. The planned iDrive range covers economy hatchbacks, standard and executive sedans, six- or seven-seat family vehicles, premium and VIP SUVs, group vans and minibuses. A specific model cannot be guaranteed until the supplier confirms it; the quote should state the booked class, seating and luggage suitability.
How to request an accurate iDrive quote
Send the pickup, destination, travel date and time, passenger count, luggage, contact details and any required stops. For an airport journey, include the flight number and scheduled arrival. For self-drive rental, add the driver age, licence details, rental period and intended cities. iDrive reviews the request and confirms the vehicle, inclusions, exclusions and payment terms before the booking becomes final.
Start your Pakistan journey quote. A submitted request is not a booking until availability, price and terms are confirmed.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a security deposit?
Many self-drive suppliers require one. The amount, payment method, deductions and release timing must be stated before confirmation.
Can I drive to another city?
Only if the supplier permits it. State every intended city because mileage, recovery risk, road restrictions and one-way return can change the price.
Can the car be dropped at a different location?
One-way return may be possible, normally with a relocation charge. It must be agreed in the booking.
Is self-drive available everywhere in Pakistan?
No guarantee should be assumed. Coverage depends on approved partners, vehicle supply, renter eligibility and permitted operating areas.
