Wedding car decoration in Pakistan is a florist’s job, not a car company’s. That single fact explains most of the confusion around it — why the price you were quoted for the car does not include the flowers, why the florist needs the car three hours before you thought, and why nobody can give you a straight answer on the phone.
Here is how the two halves actually work, and how they fit together on the day.
What the decoration actually is
At its simplest it is fresh flowers fixed to the outside of the car: a cluster on the bonnet, a runner down the centre, or a full border ring following the edges of the bonnet and the boot lid. Red roses dominate. Karachi and Lahore florists also work with lilies, orchids, carnations, marigolds and jasmine, and most offer artificial and silk alternatives alongside fresh stems.
Beyond flowers there is ribbon work — long sweeps across the bonnet, or diagonal lines running corner to corner — and, at the higher end, fabric draping, glitter work, and monogram plates. Some couples add LED strings for an evening reception.
The style follows the function. A baraat car is traditionally the boldest: heavy roses, full coverage. A walima car tends to be cleaner, sometimes just corner florals and a ribbon. Mehndi cars are usually the cheapest treatment of the three, because the car is not the focus that evening.
What it costs
Quoted prices vary more than almost anything else in the Pakistani wedding market, and you should know that before you start ringing round.
One Lahore florist publishes ten styles running from PKR 1,500 for a minimal bonnet cluster to PKR 7,000 for a full border red rose ring. Another florist, working in both Lahore and Karachi, starts at Rs 9,999 for a small car or sedan, sits at Rs 13,999 to Rs 24,000 for mid-range work, and quotes Rs 28,000 to Rs 32,000 for a luxury car in Lahore, up to Rs 35,499 in Karachi.
That is not one of them being dishonest. It is a genuine difference in product. The Rs 1,500 job is a small number of stems fixed to one panel. The Rs 30,000 job is dense fresh coverage across the whole front of the car, often with imported blooms, fabric work and a team that comes to your house. Ask any florist three questions before comparing quotes: how many panels of the car are covered, fresh or artificial, and does the price include coming to the car.
Prices also move with the season. December to February is peak in Lahore; other operators put the wedding season at November to March. Flowers cost more then and good florists book out.
Who fixes it, and when
The florist comes to the car. Almost every decoration service in Pakistan is on-site: they arrive at the house with the flowers, the frames and the fixings and work on the car where it stands.
Allow real time for this. One florist gives about 30 minutes for a standard job. Another says one to two hours depending on complexity. A Karachi service quotes three-hour delivery. So the honest planning number is somewhere between half an hour and half a morning, and you should ask for a specific figure rather than assuming.
What that means practically is that the car has to be at the house, washed, dry and parked in shade, well before you need it — not arriving at the venue time. Fresh flowers in Karachi in May do not enjoy an hour in direct sun.
On fixing method: professional installers use magnets, suction fittings, cord and frames designed not to mark paint. The DIY route — double-sided tape straight onto the bonnet — is what leaves marks, and at least one florist warns about it explicitly. If the car is not yours, this matters a great deal.
Which cars people choose
For the couple, the market clusters around a few options. Sedans — Corolla, Civic, City — go for roughly Rs 25,000 to Rs 40,000 a day in the wedding market. SUVs like the Prado, Fortuner and Land Cruiser run about Rs 40,000 to Rs 80,000. European luxury — Mercedes, BMW, Audi — sits around Rs 80,000 to Rs 150,000, and limousines above that again.
The choice is not only about status. It is about the bonnet. A wide, flat SUV bonnet carries a large floral arrangement well and photographs squarely from the front. A modern sedan with a steeply sloped bonnet holds less and shows the arrangement at an angle. If you have already picked a decoration style, send the florist a photograph of the actual car before confirming — the same design does not transfer between shapes.
For the baraat itself, the fleet is different. The couple’s car is decorated; the guests travel in Coasters, buses, Hiaces and Hi-roofs, undecorated. That split is standard, and it is worth being clear about it when you book, because the passenger vehicles are a larger and more complicated part of the job than the one decorated car.
Arranging the car and driver
This is the part that is separate. The decoration is bought from a florist. The car and the driver are booked from an operator, and the two contracts do not overlap.

A hire day is 24 hours from pick-up. Much of the local wedding market sells six-hour or eight-hour blocks instead. On paper a six-hour package looks cheaper; on a wedding day it very often is not, because a baraat that leaves at four and returns after the hall closes has already run past it. Check what the hours are before comparing any two quotes.
The fare includes fuel, tolls, parking, and the driver and his pay. Charged separately: waiting beyond the agreed allowance, changes to route, stops or timing made after the quote, and a night surcharge for travel between 22:00 and 06:00.
That last one is worth planning around rather than being surprised by. Islamabad has ordered wedding halls closed by 10pm under Section 144, and Punjab has been enforcing marriage hall timing and one-dish rules with sealings. If the hall shuts at ten, the return leg — dropping the couple, then taking family home — almost always falls after 22:00. Say so at quotation stage and it is priced in writing, in advance, rather than appearing as an argument at midnight.

Decoration on a hired car: ask first
Tell the operator you intend to decorate, before you book. Not because the answer is usually no — it usually is not — but because it changes the logistics. The car has to arrive early enough for the florist. Somebody has to be responsible for removing the flowers and any residue afterwards. And the fixing method matters to whoever owns the vehicle.
Do it in the right order: confirm the car, tell us it is being decorated, then book the florist for a time that assumes the car is already at the house.
Convoy day, in order
Agree a marshalling point for the baraat and share it with every driver, in writing, the night before. Agree the departure time and add a buffer to it, because a baraat has never in recorded history left on time.
Share driver phone numbers with one family member who is not the groom, and make that person the single point of contact. A convoy travels at the speed of its slowest vehicle, and if that vehicle is a loaded Coaster, the decorated car should not be racing ahead to the venue alone. Ask the florist how the arrangement is fixed and what speed it is rated for, particularly if any leg of the route runs on a motorway.
And tell everyone the route, including the return. Route changes after the quote are the single most common surcharge on a wedding booking, and they are almost always avoidable with one conversation the day before.
