Changan Alsvin

The Alsvin is the newest design in the standard sedan class and usually the cheapest to hire. It is a five-seat petrol saloon with a 436-litre boot, offered as a 1,370 cc manual or a 1,480 cc dual-clutch automatic, and its cabin and equipment are more modern than the older Corollas it competes with.

This starts an itinerary enquiry, not a confirmed booking. Live prices, availability and payment remain unavailable until the secure iDrive API release gates pass.

What this vehicle carries

Passengers
Five on paper. Four adults with luggage is the sensible booking.
Luggage
Three large cases.
Fuel
Petrol, 1,370 cc manual or 1,480 cc dual-clutch automatic, four-cylinder MPFI, front-wheel drive.
Roads
City and motorway. Metalled hill roads in dry weather. Its 151 mm ground clearance rules out rough or unmetalled tracks, and the northern routes to Skardu, Hunza and Babusar are not suitable.

Luggage is stated in cases rather than litres, because that is the figure that decides whether a party fits. If you are near the limit, tell us the number of bags rather than the number of people.

Why people choose it

The Alsvin is the newest design in the standard sedan class and usually the cheapest to hire. It is a five-seat petrol saloon with a 436-litre boot, offered as a 1,370 cc manual or a 1,480 cc dual-clutch automatic, and its cabin and equipment are more modern than the older Corollas it competes with. Choose it if you want a current car at the bottom of the sedan price range.

What to know before you book it

Worth knowing The 1.5 is a dual-clutch gearbox. On an open motorway it is smooth and efficient, but in Lahore or Karachi stop-start traffic a dual clutch is less relaxed than the CVT in a Yaris or a City. Changan's parts and service network in Pakistan is also thinner than Toyota's or Honda's, which matters more on a long intercity trip than on a city transfer.

Questions about this vehicle

How many people can a Changan Alsvin carry?

Five on paper. Four adults with luggage is the sensible booking. The rear bench takes three for a short run across the city, but on a long motorway journey with a full boot, four is the honest number. Tell us the head count and the bag count when you enquire and we will confirm the right car for you in writing.

How many suitcases fit in the Alsvin boot?

Three large cases. That is the working limit, not a stretched showroom figure. Add cabin bags and soft holdalls on top of three cases and you start using rear seat space, which is why we quote four adults with three cases rather than five. If your bag count is higher, say so before we quote and we will move you up a class.

Is the Changan Alsvin a 4x4?

No. It is a front-wheel-drive saloon and there is no four-wheel-drive version. On sealed roads, city streets, the M-2 and the M-5, front-wheel drive is all the car needs. For unsealed tracks, broken surfaces or snow you want a proper four-wheel drive, which is a different class of vehicle altogether.

Can I take an Alsvin to Skardu, Hunza or Naran?

We would not put you in one. Ground clearance is 151 mm, which rules out rough tracks and the unsealed sections those northern routes are known for. The Alsvin is a city and motorway car. If your journey is to Skardu, Hunza or Naran, ask us to quote a vehicle with the clearance to match the road.

How does the Alsvin cope with Lahore and Karachi traffic?

Fine on the motorway, with one honest caveat in town. The 1.5 uses a dual-clutch gearbox: smooth and settled once you are cruising, but less happy in stop-start traffic, where you can feel it hesitate at crawling pace. Nobody notices it on the M-2. In peak Lahore or Karachi congestion, a sensitive passenger will.

Is the Alsvin a good car for a long motorway journey?

Yes, this is where it works best. The dual-clutch gearbox is smooth at a steady cruise, the boot takes three large cases, and four adults travel comfortably on the M-2 or the M-5. The only thing to keep it away from is rough or unsealed road, where the low ground clearance becomes the problem.

What does "Changan Alsvin or similar" mean on a booking?

It means we guarantee the class and the capacity you booked, not one particular registration. If the specific Alsvin is not the car that arrives, the replacement is another standard-class car with at least the seating and boot space we quoted you. The price you agreed does not change because of a vehicle substitution.

Can I book an Alsvin for an airport transfer?

Yes. On airport journeys your chauffeur meets you inside arrivals, rather than leaving you to find the car park with a trolley. Drivers are vetted and you receive the driver's photo and the vehicle registration before the journey. The price is fixed once quoted. Confirm your case count with us so we can check three cases will actually do.

iDrive publishes a vehicle CLASS, and supplies this model or a similar approved vehicle in the same class. That is how the whole trade works here; we would rather say so than imply a specific registration is reserved for you.
