Luggage is stated in cases rather than litres, because that is the figure that decides whether a party fits. If you are near the limit, tell us the number of bags rather than the number of people.
Why people choose it
The Prado is the vehicle Pakistanis actually name when they mean a capable premium 4x4 — "prado rent in skardu" is a real search here, and the association with the northern areas is earned. The J150 rides better on broken surfaces than most of what shares its price, seats a family of five with real luggage, and its four-wheel drive is standard rather than variant-dependent. Take it when you want Land Cruiser character and northern capability without VIP-class fuel bills.
What to know before you book it
Questions about this vehicle
Is the Toyota Prado a five-seater or a seven-seater?
Both exist. The seat count depends on the imported trim, so the honest planning figure is five adults with luggage. If you need seven belts, we confirm the seating of the actual car in writing before you book, rather than advertising a third row and producing a five-seat trim on the day of travel.
Is the Prado 4x4?
Yes, four-wheel drive across the range, with 205 to 225 mm of ground clearance. This is the clearest difference between a Prado and a Fortuner, where the drivetrain changes with the variant and the badge on the tailgate does not tell you which one you have. Whichever J150 you are given, it is a four-wheel drive.
How much luggage fits in a Prado?
Four to five large cases with the third row folded. With a third row up, on the trims that have one, you are down to a case or two and bags at your feet. For a family of five arriving with full-size suitcases, the Prado is one of the easier vehicles we list to pack sensibly.
Is the Prado good for Skardu, Hunza or the Karakoram Highway?
It is built for exactly that: four-wheel drive, 205 to 225 mm of clearance and an 80-litre tank, which matters once fuel stops thin out past Chilas. Road and weather conditions on those routes change quickly, so we agree the route and the timing with you in writing rather than sorting it out at the counter.
Are the Prado and the Land Cruiser the same car?
Related, but not the same. The Prado is the smaller Land Cruiser, and this is the J150, the generation most commonly imported into Pakistan. The Land Cruiser 200 and 300 are the full-size body-on-frame cars: bigger, considerably thirstier, and usually booked for protocol work rather than a family trip north.
Why do Prados vary so much between suppliers?
Because nearly every Prado on hire in Pakistan is a used JDM or Gulf import of the J150. Trim, age, interior and seat count genuinely vary from car to car. That is why we confirm the specification of the specific vehicle with your quote instead of publishing one seat number and hoping the car matches it.
What does "Prado or similar" mean?
The class is fixed, not the individual registration. You are booked into a full-size four-wheel-drive SUV of Prado standard. If the exact vehicle changes we tell you before travel and the quoted price does not change. If seat count or drivetrain is critical to your plans, say so and it goes into the quote in writing.
Do you do airport pick-ups in a Prado?
Yes. On airport journeys we meet and greet at arrivals, and you have the driver's photo and the vehicle registration in advance. A Prado suits five arriving passengers with full-size cases. If you are a party of seven, say so at the enquiry and we will look at the right size of vehicle rather than squeezing you in.
Is fuel included, and how long is a hire day?
Neither is a standing rule we have published, so we will not invent one. Fuel, tolls, parking, driver arrangements and the hours a day covers are set out in writing with the quote for your specific route, before you pay anything. Once you have that quote, the price is fixed.
iDrive publishes a vehicle CLASS, and supplies this model or a similar approved vehicle in the same class. That is how the whole trade works here; we would rather say so than imply a specific registration is reserved for you.
