Luggage is stated in cases rather than litres, because that is the figure that decides whether a party fits. If you are near the limit, tell us the number of bags rather than the number of people.
Why people choose it
The Fortuner is the workhorse of Pakistan's premium 4x4 class — locally assembled, easy to service anywhere on a route, and tall enough at 279 mm of ground clearance to take the unmetalled sections north without drama. In diesel Sigma 4 form it makes 500 Nm from 1600 rpm, which is what actually matters on a sustained climb to Babusar or up the Skardu road. Choose it when you want genuine four-wheel-drive capability and seven seats without stepping up to Land Cruiser running costs.

Questions about this vehicle
How many people can sit in a Toyota Fortuner?
Seven seats. Five adults travel in real comfort; the third row is best treated as space for children. If you are six or seven grown adults with luggage for a long run, the honest answer is two cars or a larger vehicle. We would rather say that at the enquiry than have you find out at the kerb with the boot already full.
Is the Fortuner 4x4 or 2WD?
It depends on the variant, and the badge does not tell you. In Pakistan the G is 4X2 petrol, the V is 4X4 petrol and the Sigma 4 is 4X4 diesel. So a Fortuner is not automatically a four-wheel drive. Tell us the route when you enquire and the drivetrain of the car you are getting is confirmed in writing with the quote.
How much luggage fits in a Fortuner?
Four large cases with the third row folded down. With all seven seats in use it is hand baggage only, because there is very little space behind the third row. Families arriving on a flight usually fold one side of the third row, seat five and carry the cases properly. Tell us your bag count and we will say plainly whether it fits.
Is the Fortuner suitable for Skardu, Hunza or Naran?
The 4x4 diesel variants, with 279 mm of ground clearance, handle the Skardu road. That is the specification to ask for on northern routes. A 4X2 petrol Fortuner looks identical from the outside and is not the same car on a broken surface, so state the route at the enquiry stage and the drivetrain is confirmed before you commit.
Can I get a Fortuner on self-drive, or is it with a driver?
We quote both chauffeur-driven and self-drive, and which one applies to a particular Fortuner is confirmed in writing with your quote. On chauffeur bookings the driver is vetted, and you receive his photo and the vehicle registration. On a mountain route most people take the driver: a loaded 4x4 on the Skardu road is not the place to learn.
What does "Fortuner or similar" mean?
It means the class is fixed, not the badge. You are booked into a seven-seat body-on-frame SUV of that standard. If the exact car changes we tell you before travel, and the price you were quoted does not move. If a specific requirement matters to you, such as four-wheel drive, diesel or a particular seat count, say so and we write it into the quote.
Do you meet us at the airport?
Yes. On airport journeys we meet and greet at arrivals, so you are met inside the terminal rather than hunting through a car park. You have the driver's photo and the vehicle registration before you travel. The Fortuner suits a family of five with full-size cases; seven passengers plus hold luggage will not fit, so tell us the numbers first.
Is the Fortuner comfortable for a long motorway run?
For five, yes. It is a city and motorway car all year round, and the first two rows are the ones to fill on a long day, whether that is Islamabad to Lahore or Karachi to Hyderabad and back. The third row is a children's row. It is fine for an hour and a poor place to put an adult for six.
Does the price include fuel, tolls and parking?
We have not published a blanket rule on that, and we will not invent one here. What is and is not included, including fuel, tolls, parking, driver arrangements and how long a hire day runs, is set out in writing with the quote for your specific route before you pay. Once that quote is given, the price is fixed.
iDrive publishes a vehicle CLASS, and supplies this model or a similar approved vehicle in the same class. That is how the whole trade works here; we would rather say so than imply a specific registration is reserved for you.
