What this vehicle carries

Passengers
Thirteen to fifteen depending on body and bench layout — the standard-roof and high-roof bodies are seated differently and there is no single number. Realistically eleven or twelve travelling adults once bags are…
Luggage
Standard roof: about four to six cases with the vehicle full, and everything else goes on laps or a roof carrier. High roof: closer to eight to ten cases stacked behind the rear row. This is the single biggest reason…
Fuel
Toyota Indus offers this generation in Pakistan as a 2,494cc 2KD-FTV diesel across standard-roof, standard-roof dual-AC and high-roof dual-AC forms, plus a 2,694cc 2TR-FE petrol in standard-roof dual-AC. Diesel is the…
Roads
City shuttles, motorway intercity work and sealed mountain roads. Rear-wheel drive, no low range. Fine to Murree, Nathia Gali, Naran and up the Karakoram Highway; not for unmetalled tracks.

Luggage is stated in cases rather than litres, because that is the figure that decides whether a party fits. If you are near the limit, tell us the number of bags rather than the number of people.

Why people choose it

This is the Hiace that Pakistan actually runs on — the locally supplied van behind most school routes, factory shuttles, hotel transfers and intercity group movements in the country. Its case is unglamorous and solid: parts and service exist in every city, drivers know it, and in diesel form it is the cheapest way in this class to move eleven or twelve people a long way. If your job is a repeating corporate shuttle, a straightforward Lahore to Islamabad group run, or an airport transfer where the bags are moderate, this is the sensible vehicle rather than the expensive one. Supplied with a vetted driver, and on airport journeys the driver meets you at arrivals.

What to know before you book it

Worth knowing Standard roof and high roof are sold under the same name and they are not the same product. In a standard-roof Hiace you cannot stand up, and with a full load the luggage ends up on laps or on the roof — which is why families arriving with heavy baggage should be booking the Grand Cabin instead and paying the difference. Also worth knowing before you commit to a long climb: the 2.5 diesel with thirteen people aboard is slow and loud on a mountain gradient. It will get there. It will not be quiet about it.

Questions about this vehicle

How many passengers does the Toyota Hiace H200 seat?

Thirteen to fifteen, depending on the body and the bench layout of the individual vehicle. That spread is real rather than evasive, because the same model name covers several interior configurations in Pakistan. Give us your exact headcount when you enquire and we confirm the seating of the vehicle allocated to your journey before you commit.

What is the difference between the standard roof and the high roof Hiace?

They are sold under the same name and they are not the same product. You cannot stand up inside a standard roof; a high roof lets most adults move down the aisle upright and carries noticeably more luggage. If your group is boarding and unloading repeatedly, or travelling with big cases, ask for the high roof by name.

How much luggage fits in an H200 with the van full?

On the standard roof, about four to six cases with every seat taken. That is the figure nobody tells you before you reach the airport with fifteen bags. A high roof takes more. If your luggage exceeds that, the honest answer is a second vehicle or fewer passengers, and we will say so at the quote stage.

Is the Hiace H200 a 4x4?

No. It is rear-wheel drive with no low range. That is perfectly good on sealed roads, including the metalled mountain routes, but it is not an off-road vehicle and not a snow vehicle. If your itinerary leaves the tarmac for jeep tracks, riverbeds or unsealed sections, you want a 4x4 and we will tell you so.

Can an H200 go to Naran, Swat or Murree?

Yes, on the sealed roads. It does city shuttles, motorway intercity work and sealed mountain roads, which covers Murree, the metalled route to Naran and Swat on tarmac. Where it stops being right is anywhere the surface ends. Send us the actual route and we will say plainly whether this van or a 4x4 is the sensible vehicle.

Is the H200 good for airport transfers?

Yes, and it is a common choice for families arriving together with several bags. On airport journeys we meet you at arrivals rather than leaving you to search outside. Remember the luggage figure: a standard-roof H200 full of people does not also swallow fifteen suitcases, so give us the bag count when you enquire.

Can I hire an H200 without a driver?

We quote the H200 as a chauffeured vehicle rather than a self-drive one. The drivers are vetted, with photo and registration confirmed before they are allocated to a journey. If you specifically need a self-drive vehicle, tell us when you enquire and we will answer in writing rather than leaving you to guess.

What does "or similar" mean for a Hiace booking?

It means the class and the seating are what we commit to, not a specific registration. Because H200 bodies genuinely vary, we confirm the actual configuration for your booking, roof height and bench layout included, instead of leaving you to discover it on the day. The price is fixed once quoted, so a substitution does not change it.

iDrive publishes a vehicle CLASS, and supplies this model or a similar approved vehicle in the same class. That is how the whole trade works here; we would rather say so than imply a specific registration is reserved for you.
