Questions about this class
Does an SUV mean four-wheel drive?+
No, and this is the most common misunderstanding in Pakistani car hire. In this class the Kia Sportage is front-wheel drive in its Alpha and FWD trims and all-wheel drive only in the AWD and Limited Edition trims. The Haval H6 is all-wheel drive only in the 2.0-litre turbo version. The Changan Oshan X7 is front-wheel drive throughout. If four-wheel drive matters for your route, say so when you ask for a quote and we will confirm the actual vehicle rather than assume from the badge.
Can these cars go to Skardu, Hunza or Naran?+
On sealed roads, yes. The Karakoram Highway to Hunza, the road to Skardu and the metalled approach to Naran town are all within reach of this class at touring pace. What they are not built for is unmetalled jeep track — Deosai, Fairy Meadows, the upper Kumrat valley. PakWheels' own northern-Pakistan guide puts the safe baseline for serious mountain routes at around 200 mm of ground clearance with a low-range four-wheel drive; in this class only the Oshan X7 reaches 200 mm, and it is front-wheel drive.
Which Sportage will I actually get?+
There are two on Pakistani roads and they are different cars. The fourth-generation Sportage QL is a 2.0-litre petrol with 172 mm of clearance and the biggest boot in this class — it is what most rental fleets run. The Sportage L is the fifth generation launched here in 2025, a 1.6 petrol-electric hybrid with 181 mm and a smaller 586-litre boot. Each has its own page here, and the vehicle you are quoted for is the vehicle you get.
How much luggage fits?+
Three or four large cases plus a couple of cabin bags in most of this class, which is comfortably more than a saloon and less than a Hiace. The Sportage QL has the most room. Give us the case count with your quote request and we will match the vehicle to it.
Is a driver included, and who is it?+
Yes, these are chauffeur bookings. You see the driver's photo and the vehicle registration before you travel, and every driver on the platform is vetted.
Can you meet me at the airport?+
On airport journeys your driver meets you at arrivals rather than waiting in a car park. That applies to airport bookings specifically.
How does pricing work?+
Give us the route, the date and the vehicle class and we will quote you. Once quoted, the price is fixed.
Crossover or family MPV — which is right for us?+
Count heads first. Five or fewer, and this class gives you the better journey. Six or more, and you need the family MPV class regardless of how much nicer a crossover is to sit in. The one vehicle that straddles both is the seven-seat Changan Oshan X7, though its third row is best treated as occasional.
