What this vehicle carries
- Passengers
- Five, seven or eight, depending on the trim and the market the car was imported from. Toyota sold it as a five- or seven-seater in Europe and an eight-seater in the Gulf and North America, and Pakistan's imports are usually the eight-seat Gulf or Japanese cars. Ask which one you are getting rather than assuming eight.
- Luggage
- Six large cases with the third row folded. Toyota's figures for the seven-seat car are 259 litres behind the third row, 701 with it down and 1,267 with the second row down as well. The six is the folded number, not the all-seats-up one.
Luggage is stated in cases rather than litres, because that is the figure that decides whether a party fits. If you are near the limit, tell us the number of bags rather than the number of people.
Why people choose it
The 200-series V8 is the default protocol vehicle in Pakistan — the car that gets used for delegations, senior corporate movements and wedding lead cars, and the one the market searches for by name rather than by class. It carries five adults and their luggage in genuine comfort over a five-hour motorway leg, and its presence is the point. Choose it when the vehicle is part of the occasion.

Questions about this vehicle
How many seats does the Land Cruiser 200 have?
Five, seven or eight, depending on the trim and the market the car came from. Toyota sold it as a five- or seven-seater in Europe and an eight-seater in the Gulf and North America, and the cars reaching Pakistan are usually the eight-seat Gulf or Japanese imports. Ask which one you are getting rather than assuming eight; we confirm it before quoting.
How much luggage does a Land Cruiser 200 take?
Six large cases with the third row folded. Toyota's figures for the seven-seat car are 259 litres behind the third row, 701 with it down and 1,267 with the second row down as well. The six is the folded number, not the all-seats-up one, so tell us whether you need the third row and we will plan around it.
Is the Land Cruiser 200 a 4x4?
Yes, a full-size body-on-frame four-wheel drive, which is a different class of machine from a Prado or a Fortuner. It is the type of vehicle used on the Karakoram Highway and on rough surfaces where lighter SUVs become uncomfortable. Weight and strength are the point of this car. Economy is not.
Is it right for the Karakoram Highway, Skardu or Hunza?
On capability, yes. It is a full-size body-on-frame four-wheel drive and it is at home on the Karakoram Highway. The cost of that capability is fuel: on long climbs the V8 drinks heavily, so plan the fuel stops into your budget. If you want similar terrain ability with less thirst, look at a diesel Prado.
What is the fuel consumption like?
This is where the 200 hurts. A V8 returns single-digit kilometres per litre on a gradient, so a run to Skardu or Hunza involves real fuel spend on top of the hire itself. We would rather you knew that before booking than worked it out at the second pump stop on the KKH.
Land Cruiser 200 or Prado, which should I book?
The Prado is the smaller Land Cruiser: four-wheel drive across the range, easier on fuel, and the sensible family choice for the northern routes. The 200 is the full-size car, with more presence and more brute capability, but far more fuel. Choose the 200 when the occasion or the terrain genuinely calls for it, not by default.
Do you use the Land Cruiser 200 for airport transfers?
Yes, and it is a common choice for arrivals where presence matters. On airport journeys we meet and greet at arrivals, and the driver's photo and the vehicle registration reach you before travel. Confirm your passenger and luggage numbers when you enquire: the 200 reaches Pakistan in five, seven and eight-seat forms and we will tell you which one you are getting.
What does "Land Cruiser 200 or similar" mean?
You are booked into the full-size Land Cruiser class rather than one specific registration. If the exact car changes we tell you before travel, and the price you were quoted does not move. If you need a particular seat count or a specific variant, raise it at the enquiry and it is written into the quote.
Is fuel included in the price?
We have not published a standing rule on fuel, tolls, parking or driver costs, so we will not state one here. Those terms are set out in writing with the quote for your specific route before you pay. That section matters more with the 200 than with anything else we list, so read it.
iDrive publishes a vehicle CLASS, and supplies this model or a similar approved vehicle in the same class. That is how the whole trade works here; we would rather say so than imply a specific registration is reserved for you.
